I mean, what is the deal with the Bermuda Triangle? And how does Meg Ryan always get the easiest breakups in every movie?? And WHY does the general public find root beer floats acceptable, but the concept of Coke Milk completely absurd??? Something isn’t adding up.
All good results come from asking the right questions.
If you aren’t willing to be curious, creativity alone won’t get you where you need to go.
That’s why I believe that research & data shouldn't be seen as enemies to good storytelling — instead, they should probably get married and have lots of really cool & interesting kids who are the ideal person to get trapped in a conversation with at a party.
In both work and play, I attempt to answer some of these questions — but mostly, I just try to find ways to make everyone feel a little more weird and a little less alone.
Oh, yeah — sometimes I write love stories.
It’s true — underneath this cold, hard exterior there is a soft nougat center. Don’t judge me for it. Love stories (whether they be ones of friendship, family, or knees-weak romance) are kind of the most important stories we have.
